Quotex in Pakistan: SECP Warning and What Authorisation Means

The relevant starting point for Quotex research in Pakistan is the SECP’s named warning. Registration access, a local-language video or a payment route does not establish Pakistani authorisation.

Published · Updated · 6 min read

The starting point for Quotex research in Pakistan is the SECP’s named warning, not whether a website opens or a payment succeeds. Its 9 April 2025 release identifies Qxbroker (Quotex) as unauthorised to operate in Pakistan.

This guide explains what that primary source establishes, what it does not establish and how to evaluate a newer claim. Sources were checked on 24 October 2026. We did not locate an official reversal in the searches used for this update; that limited search is not a certificate of every subsequent regulatory event.

What SECP said about Qxbroker and Quotex

The release names the Qxbroker/Quotex service, its website and a Google Play app. It advises the public not to open accounts, deposit funds or share personal or financial information with Quotex or similar unregistered platforms. It also directs readers to verify authorised brokers and investment advisers through SECP’s genuine website.

SECP said the matter had been referred to FIA, PTA and Google for action, including blocking access. A referral is not evidence that every requested measure was implemented on every network or device. This article does not claim a freshly verified nationwide blocking outcome.

The warning is Pakistan-specific. It should not be rewritten as a worldwide court judgment or as a finding about every unrelated company with a similar name. Equally, a different domain does not establish that the named authorisation problem has been resolved.

Why a working website or app does not answer the warning

Observation What it may show What it does not prove
Website opens Technical access at that time. Pakistani financial authorisation.
Pakistani phone accepted An onboarding feature. Permission for the service.
App-store listing Software distribution. Regulatory approval.
Local-language video Marketing or educational content. A licence or valid exemption.
Successful withdrawal screenshot A claim about a payment. Authorisation or future payment reliability.

Even a verified payment would answer an operational question, not the regulatory one. Keep those findings in separate columns rather than using one favourable event as a general safety badge.

How to examine an authorisation claim

  1. Record the exact company named in the current agreement and the full domain.
  2. Ask which authority, licence and activity the claim refers to.
  3. Open the authority’s genuine source independently.
  4. Match entity, status, relevant activity and contact route.
  5. Check whether the evidence addresses the Pakistani offer, not a different company or jurisdiction.
  6. Preserve the result and unresolved discrepancies with the date checked.

A foreign incorporation document can establish a corporate record without establishing permission to offer the advertised financial service in Pakistan. An overseas licence also needs its actual scope examined; “internationally regulated” is not a substitute for the missing detail.

Do not use only a register screenshot supplied by a salesperson. A genuine entry can be copied into an unrelated offer. If the contract names a different company from the certificate, ask for the documented relationship instead of silently treating them as interchangeable.

Impersonated licensed brokers are a separate risk

SECP published a further warning in December 2025 about fraudulent platforms impersonating licensed brokers. That warning provides additional context for checking identity, but it is not evidence that the named Quotex warning was withdrawn or that every impersonation notice concerns Quotex.

When someone quotes a genuine broker’s name, verify the actual website and contact details through independently trusted sources. A valid licence number belongs to a particular entity and role; its presence in a message does not authenticate the sender.

Three misleading inferences to avoid

“My friend withdrew, therefore it is approved”

Suppose a friend has a receiving statement for one payment. That can support a narrow claim that the payment arrived. It does not establish the provider’s permission, how other accounts are handled or what happens to a larger later request.

“The domain changed, therefore the warning no longer matters”

A fictional seller moves from one web address to another while keeping similar branding. The changed address is a fact to investigate. Compare agreements, company records and official updates before concluding that the underlying service has changed status.

“A referral means the site must already be blocked everywhere”

A notice describing a referral and a current technical access test address different events. Keep both observations accurate. Do not infer completed enforcement from requested action, or authorisation from the absence of a technical block.

If you already have an account or a payment concern

Preserve the agreement, account history, funding and withdrawal references, advertisements and dated support replies. Identify whether the issue is an unresolved document request, a pending payment, a deduction or an alleged unauthorised transaction.

Secure exposed credentials through a trusted route. Contact the relevant payment institution promptly about suspected fraud or unauthorised activity, and use genuine competent-authority channels for current reporting guidance. Reporting and a bank investigation do not guarantee recovery.

For a missing withdrawal, ask what stage remains and what external reference exists if payment was released. Do not send additional money to an unofficial agent claiming a fee can remove a regulatory warning or guarantee a cash-out.

A concise research enquiry

Your offer states [claim] for Pakistani customers. Please identify the exact contracting entity, applicable authorisation and official source supporting that claim, and explain how it addresses the SECP release dated 9 April 2025. A working website or payment screenshot does not answer my request for regulatory evidence.

This enquiry is a way to expose an evidence gap, not a reason to provide identity files or make a test deposit. Preserve the answer and verify it independently.

Frequently asked questions

Is Quotex SECP-authorised in Pakistan?

The cited SECP release explicitly identifies it as unauthorised. This update found no official reversal in the searches performed.

Does a demo account establish permission for real trading?

No. A virtual interface does not establish authorisation to provide the real-money service.

Does an overseas licence settle Pakistani requirements?

Do not assume so. Its scope and relevance to the actual local offer must be established.

Is this a personal legal opinion?

No. It explains identified public sources and research limits; an individual dispute requires advice suited to its facts.
