Broker Review Methodology

Last updated: October 2026. Best Binary Brokers Hub uses a source-first editorial process for researching online trading platforms, binary options, fixed-time products and leveraged derivatives. Our goal is to help readers check primary evidence, not to rank platforms by promotional payout percentages or commissions.

1. How a broker enters our research library

A website, advertisement or brand logo does not prove a company is genuine, regulated or legally accessible in your country. We first identify the platform’s official website, trading products, contracting legal entities, terms, payment policy and contact channels. A brand can have different legal entities for residents of different territories. We record that distinction instead of transferring a licence from one partner company to another.

Inclusion in a review library is not a recommendation to deposit or trade. Readers should verify whether the specific financial activity is permitted locally; restrictions can depend on both the country and the exact product.

2. Evidence hierarchy and primary sources

  • Regulatory records: official regulator licence registers, authorisation statements, alert lists and enforcement notices. We distinguish an active licence from a company registration, a private association membership or an unsupported marketing claim.
  • Contract documents: publicly accessible client agreements, trading rules, risk disclosures, privacy policies and payment terms issued by the relevant legal counterparty.
  • Product documentation: instrument lists, live asset schedules, demo descriptions, payout schedules, margin terms and contract expiry explanations.
  • Secondary information: educational guides, customer complaints and independent discussion. These may help identify issues but cannot alone establish regulatory permission or a representative withdrawal-success rate.

Every material conclusion should cite a specific document and record when it was checked. Historical claims are not automatically assumed to describe current accounts, fees or products. If we cannot verify a claim, we explain its limits rather than invent a figure.

3. What our broker reviews examine

Each detailed dossier is organised around legal identity, regulation and geographic permissions; product categories and OTC or synthetic instruments; trading payout, leverage and expiry terms; deposit minimums and supported channels; identity verification; withdrawal minimums, restrictions and fees; demo functionality; platform security and privacy; customer support; pros, cons, and the mathematical risk of potential losses.

A starting deposit, minimum trade and minimum withdrawal are three different amounts. Similarly, a quoted platform-processing interval is not a verified receipt at a customer’s bank or wallet. A demo balance is simulated money, not cash available for withdrawal.

4. How we handle OTC and synthetic markets

We distinguish ordinary forex and exchange-linked price references from off-market OTC-labelled symbols and proprietary simulated indices. A weekend OTC chart may not match an independent spot exchange chart. We check the asset label, stated quotation source, operating sessions, contract duration and payout rules. We do not assert that a feed is manipulated or fully equivalent to a public market without adequate evidence.

5. Documented tests versus desk research

Most current broker reviews on this site are documentary research, not funded-account investigations. We do not claim to have opened a real-money account, placed trades, measured execution speed, completed KYC or withdrawn money unless we have a dated, reproducible record supporting each step. An advertised demo, promotional testimonial, account screenshot or unverifiable social-media claim is not a substitute.

If future hands-on testing is conducted, the report should document the date, jurisdiction, legal entity, account type, instrument, funding method and amount, order timestamps, quoted terms, withdrawal request, final receipt and applicable fees, with sensitive personal information removed.

6. Payout mathematics, not profit guarantees

In a simplified all-or-nothing contract, a losing trade can cost the entire stake while a winning trade may pay only part of that stake as profit. For example, an 80% profit payout requires a win rate of about 55.56% merely to break even before other charges. An advertised signal ‘accuracy’ does not prove this performance is reliably achievable on live trades. Leveraged CFDs have separate margin, spread and financing risks and should not be modelled as fixed-outcome options.

7. Pros, cons and rankings

Our pros and cons distinguish features supported by publicly available evidence from important limitations. A risk calculator is an illustrative educational tool, not a broker approval score. We do not assign an unconditional ‘safe’, ‘best’ or ‘guaranteed payout’ verdict based on partner commissions, deposit bonuses, sales volume or unsupported user reviews. Rankings, if published, must have a disclosed methodology and current evidence.

8. Partner links and commercial separation

Some pages may contain partner or referral links, which can generate a commission if a visitor meets the partner programme’s terms. Those links must be identified, and a referral relationship does not change our examination of fees, regulation and material risks. Official website, account-registration and demo-account links are labelled separately. If a verified Partner link is not active, we use a direct official link where appropriate and do not describe it as sponsored.

See our Commission disclosure for details. Availability of an partner programme does not mean a broker has permission to offer the relevant product to every visitor.

9. Country-specific legal checks

Regulators authorise specific legal entities and activities in defined territories. A CySEC licence held by an EU company does not automatically extend to a separate company serving users elsewhere. The same principle applies to registrations in offshore jurisdictions. In India, readers should consult the relevant Reserve Bank of India and other official notices for the precise activity. Our country research hub is educational and not individual legal advice.

10. Corrections, review dates and limitations

Broker documentation, product availability, regulatory permissions and payment terms can change. We periodically review cited sources and update a page when material differences are found. Publication or page-modified dates must not be misrepresented as the dates of an independent financial transaction. A website audit cannot guarantee that all external links will remain accessible permanently.

To request a correction, identify the exact URL, disputed sentence and a primary supporting source. Send it through the contact page. We can revise, clarify or withdraw unsupported claims while preserving a meaningful editorial record.

11. Reader safety checklist

  • Read the current agreement for the exact company and product offered to you.
  • Check the legal entity in an official public regulator record.
  • Read the complete deposit, withdrawal and KYC requirements.
  • Understand whether a contract can lose the entire stake or more than expected through leverage.
  • Use demo tools only as simulations; never assume demo profit proves future live results.
  • Do not share passwords, OTPs or money with unofficial agents or ‘recovery’ services.
  • Do not use funds needed for essential living costs or debt repayments in speculative products.

Editorial scope: Our content is general educational research, not regulated financial advice, personalised investment advice or confirmation that a provider is authorised in a reader’s country.
