An IQ Option practice account should be treated as a virtual learning environment. Its balance and results need separate records from any funded account, withdrawal claim or tournament reward.
Use the applicable practice documentation
IQ Option publishes practice-account terms and official educational material describing virtual-fund practice. The precise interface and regional entity should be identified before applying instructions from an older article.
Do not assume a practice balance is withdrawable money or that a tournament’s reward conditions apply to an ordinary demo account. These are different arrangements requiring their own terms.
Choose a narrow first exercise
Start by identifying the selected product, account mode, complete instrument and settlement mechanism. Learn how to find the accepted transaction record before evaluating any result.
Avoid copying a social-media entry purely to see a winning animation. A useful exercise asks a question that can be answered from the recorded evidence, such as whether displayed profit includes the returned stake.
Record a simple payoff reconciliation
For an illustrative one-unit fixed-outcome stake at an 80% profit payout, a win adds 0.8 units of profit and a full-stake loss removes one unit. Ten wins and ten losses produce −2 units.
These are hypothetical inputs. If the selected product uses a different structure, use its actual specification instead of applying the binary-payoff formula automatically.
Keep virtual-fund reloads visible
| Event | Journal treatment |
|---|---|
| Initial virtual balance | Starting point for the session |
| Trading result | Separate realised gain or loss |
| Reload or reset | External adjustment to the experiment |
| New rule | New version and evaluation sample |
A reset that returns the balance to its original number does not mean earlier virtual losses were recovered by the rule.
Check instructions before following them
The 2019 official practice article describes both self-service refill and a support route, while the current demo page advertises a rechargeable balance. Follow current genuine help for your interface and avoid sharing credentials with a third-party ‘account assistant’.
If a tutorial tells you to deposit to activate a supposedly free lesson, verify the claim independently. Learning the accounting does not require sending funds.
What practice results can support
They can support an observation about that recorded sample and demonstrate familiarity with controls. They do not establish future accuracy, live execution quality, regulatory permission or the ability to withdraw.
A finished learning session can simply end. Keep its results, including mistakes, instead of chasing a particular ending balance or presenting selected screenshots as proof of income.
Starting a practice session: confirm the account first
At this source review, IQ Option’s official demo page advertises a free, rechargeable US$10,000 virtual balance after registration. It describes switching to demo inside the trading room. This is the provider’s stated feature, not evidence that every regional entity, instrument or future interface has identical settings.
- Open the genuine provider website independently and use its own login route.
- Locate the account selector and read the practice/demo label. Do not identify the account solely by a colour shown in an old tutorial.
- Write down the product and full instrument name. A CFD position and a fixed-outcome contract require different result calculations.
- Identify the amount, applicable timing and order confirmation before making a virtual transaction.
- Find the history entry and check that it records the transaction you intended.
If the account label is unclear, stop and consult genuine help. Do not use an actual card payment as an experiment to find out whether a balance is virtual. Learning how an interface works does not require moving into a funded account.
A useful first-session worksheet
| Question | Record before the exercise | Check afterwards |
|---|---|---|
| Which account am I using? | Practice label and opening virtual balance | History belongs to the same account |
| What did I select? | Product, symbol and settings | Accepted transaction matches the intended settings |
| When does it finish? | Duration or expiry, with time basis | Actual recorded closing/settlement time |
| What changed? | Stake and stated payoff or position size | Net result separated from balance reloads |
Use one learning question at a time. For example, ask whether the displayed winning amount represents net profit or the total return including the stake. If the screen is ambiguous, compare the transaction record with the before-and-after balance. A screenshot of the result animation alone may omit the information needed to reconcile it.
A reload example that preserves the loss history
Imagine an illustrative practice session starts at 1,000 units, loses 100 and is then topped up by 100. The balance returns to 1,000, but the trading result remains minus 100. If the next segment makes 30 units, the combined trading result is minus 70 even though the displayed closing balance is 1,030.
The reconciliation is opening balance plus trading result plus virtual adjustments equals closing balance: 1,000 minus 70 plus 100 equals 1,030. These numbers are invented teaching inputs, not IQ Option’s actual starting-balance specification. Record every reload and preserve the previous sample before starting again.
Testing a rule without selecting only winners
Define the observation window, instrument, entry condition, amount and exit rule before seeing the outcomes. Save losing observations, order mistakes and occasions when the rule said to do nothing. If the payoff changes, keep its accepted value for each contract rather than using a single attractive percentage for the whole sample.
When you revise the rule, label a new version and evaluate it on later observations. Repeatedly changing settings until past trades look profitable measures how well you fitted that sample; it does not independently establish future performance. A short winning run can also occur by chance. Keep sample size and total exposure beside any accuracy figure.
Frequently asked questions
Can I withdraw an ordinary practice balance?
No. The official practice explainer describes virtual money that cannot be withdrawn. Do not confuse the ordinary practice account with a separately governed competition or promotion.
Must I create another account to practise?
The official practice explainer describes practice as part of the existing account, with account switching in the trading room. Follow the current genuine interface rather than creating duplicate accounts because a third-party tutorial suggests it.
Does demo profit confirm withdrawal reliability?
No. A virtual ledger cannot test real payment processing, identity checks or a provider’s ability to pay. See our payment research hub for the evidence needed to investigate those questions separately.
What if the refill control is different from a tutorial?
Use current official help and confirm practice mode before proceeding. Do not give remote access or credentials to an unsolicited “reload assistant”. Our demo learning hub provides a framework that does not depend on one button position.
