Deriv Withdrawals: Trading Accounts, Wallets and External Payments

Moving money from a Deriv trading account to a Deriv balance or Wallet is different from withdrawing to an external payment destination. Identify which stage your account is showing.

Published · Updated · 7 min read

A Deriv withdrawal can involve moving available money from a trading account into a Deriv account or Wallet, then requesting an external payment. An instant internal transfer does not mean a bank, e-wallet or cryptocurrency destination has received the money.

This guide separates those stages, compares selected public payment-method examples and explains how to investigate a pending or missing transfer. Official sources were checked on 24 October 2026. They describe published terms, not independently tested payment performance.

Deriv MT5 withdrawal versus an external withdrawal

Deriv’s MT5 help page says funds must first be transferred from the MT5 account to the Deriv account and describes that internal transfer as instant. The current Funds and Transfers terms also describe transfers between Wallets and trading accounts. Interface labels and account structures can differ; follow the genuine account’s available route.

Think in ledger entries. A trading-account debit should match an internal-account credit. A later withdrawal debit should have its own request record. External receipt is a third piece of evidence, usually a receiving statement or an appropriate payment record.

A combined portfolio figure is not necessarily the amount available to withdraw. For any trading account, compare the transferable amount shown with open exposure and account restrictions before initiating a transfer. Do not use a displayed unrealised gain as proof that the same amount is already available as settled cash.

Deriv withdrawal stages: trading account, internal Wallet or account, external request and receiving credit.
Track each movement separately; this checklist is not a guaranteed payment timetable.

How to prepare and submit a Deriv withdrawal

  1. Open your authenticated account using your usual trusted route. Identify the real-money source account and currency.
  2. If necessary, use the available internal transfer function to move transferable funds into the account or Wallet used for withdrawal.
  3. Confirm both sides of that transfer in history before assuming the external request has begun.
  4. Choose an available withdrawal method and inspect its limits, estimated time, destination details and costs.
  5. Complete any verification or confirmation requested through the genuine account.
  6. Submit once, save the request ID and record its subsequent status changes.

These steps explain recordkeeping rather than guaranteeing that every account offers the same methods. If an option is unavailable, ask support which route applies. Avoid substituting somebody else’s payment details or following unsolicited agent instructions.

Deriv minimum withdrawal and payment-method processing time

The official limits help page says deposit and withdrawal thresholds vary by payment method. Its reference to a lowest US$5 deposit should not be converted into a universal US$5 withdrawal minimum. Read the withdrawal column and the selected route’s account screen.

Selected public payment-table examples checked 24 October 2026; not account-specific availability
Method Listed currency Withdrawal range Listed processing time
Mastercard USD 10–10,000 1 working day
Visa USD 10–10,000 1 working day
Neteller USD 10–10,000 Instant
Mpesa USD 5–1,000 Instant

These are published table labels. They do not establish that the method serves your country, that a particular bank credits immediately or that verification exceptions cannot apply. Keep platform processing and receiving-provider credit separate when comparing an estimate with your experience.

Also distinguish a per-transaction range from account-level limits. Deriv’s Funds and Transfers terms say account limits are displayed in the account and can change. Ask which limit caused a refusal rather than automatically splitting requests or moving to another method.

Same payment method and unavailable destinations

The Funds and Transfers terms require requesting withdrawals through the same payment method used for deposits and note that available methods may change. They also prohibit sharing payment methods with another client. An expired card or a closed wallet therefore needs a documented support resolution.

Keep the original funding evidence and explain the change precisely. Ask what replacement evidence is required and whether the funds will be returned or rerouted. A generic old community reply about an exception does not override the current agreement or authorise your particular destination.

Deriv withdrawal fees, conversion and net receipt

The fees help page says the selected withdrawal method may charge withdrawal fees. Confirm the payment route, not just the platform balance. A statement about no deposit fee into a Wallet does not prove a free external withdrawal.

Use three fields: account debit, amount sent and receiving credit. For a fictional 100-unit request with a two-unit deduction, 98 units remain before any additional conversion or receiving charge. If the fee is billed separately, the account debit and net payment may follow a different pattern.

For a currency change, preserve the quote and its timestamp. Suppose 98 units are converted at an illustrative rate of 80 local units per unit: the gross equivalent is 7,840 local units. This is arithmetic only, not a current exchange rate. Deducting the same fee again after it was already included would understate the receipt.

Deriv withdrawal pending or money missing: locate the failed link

Observation Evidence that helps
MT5 balance fell but Wallet did not rise Source and destination account IDs, internal transfer reference and currencies.
No external request appears Submission confirmation, error text and account notices.
Request is under review Outstanding verification task and the route-specific processing estimate.
Marked sent but not received Release time, destination confirmation and a network-appropriate trace reference.
Request failed Recorded reason and evidence of any balance reversal.

A screenshot of one balance cannot reconcile all these stages. Export or retain history covering the relevant dates, and ask which specific entry support is investigating. Repeatedly submitting new requests can make the chronology harder to follow.

Crypto withdrawals: distinguish platform status from network evidence

Before confirming a crypto transfer, check the asset, network, destination address and any required memo or tag. A matching asset ticker alone does not establish network compatibility. Read the receiving service’s deposit instructions as well as the sending screen.

If support says the transfer was broadcast, request the transaction hash and network. Check whether the transaction exists on that network and whether the receiving service requires further confirmations or manual credit. An internal request ID is not automatically a public blockchain transaction hash.

Never share private keys or seed phrases. A request to send more money to an unsolicited “unlock” address needs verification through the genuine support channel; it is not payment trace evidence.

A precise support enquiry

Please investigate [internal transfer ID/external withdrawal ID]. The source is [account type and masked ID], destination [type], amount [currency/amount], and submission time [date/time/timezone]. The current status is [status]. I can confirm [source debit/destination credit/missing credit]. Please identify the outstanding stage and requirement. If released externally, please supply the release time and suitable payment trace reference.

Keep case numbers, dated replies and original records together. Share payment and identity evidence only through the appropriate secure channel, with public copies redacted.

Frequently asked questions

Does an instant MT5 transfer mean an instant bank withdrawal?

No. The internal account movement and external payment are separate events.

Is every Deriv withdrawal minimum US$5?

No. The official help page says thresholds depend on the method. Check its withdrawal field and your account’s available route.

Can I withdraw demo funds?

Virtual practice balances are not real cash available for external payment.

Should I use an old forum estimate?

Use current applicable terms and the request-specific information first. Old replies may describe a different method, account structure or period.
