Research Binary Options Rules by Country: key research steps
Start with the resident jurisdiction
Licensing and financial-product prohibitions depend on residency, where the provider is established and the specific service offered. An app loading in your browser is not a guarantee that marketing, accepting deposits or delivering fixed-outcome derivatives is legally permitted.
Identify the exact service and client entity
Write down the firm named in the contract, its address, the brand’s websites, the instrument type and the regulator it cites. Check the regulator’s official register rather than relying only on a licence picture displayed by the broker. Look for product permissions, warnings, consumer protections and complaints channels.
India and international distinctions
Indian readers should consult RBI and relevant domestic regulator information about unauthorised forex electronic trading platforms, as applicable to the product. A European investment licence cannot simply be applied to an unrelated offshore company. Likewise, a registration in a corporate registry is not itself equivalent to permission to offer investment services to the public.
Keep a verification record
Note when an official register was checked and which legal entity matched. If no reliable primary document establishes the product’s permission, treat the matter as unresolved. Continue at our country hub or India guide.

Beginner guide: A broker’s website may open from your country while its financial products remain restricted or unauthorised there. The correct question is not only “Can I access this app?” but “What product is offered, by which legal entity, under what local rules?”
Understand that countries treat products differently
Retail binary options, CFDs, leveraged forex, crypto and traditional investment accounts may fall under different frameworks. Rules can distinguish promoting a product from owning one, and may apply differently to local and offshore firms. Search for the exact product as well as the broker brand in relevant current official materials.
How to verify a provider
Find the legal entity in account terms, identify the relevant regulator and check the official register or warning list. Confirm that any authorisation covers the right activity, territory and product. If the provider’s brand name differs from its legal entity, record the relationship instead of assuming a similarly named licensed firm is the operator.
Country-specific research before registration
Review age and identity requirements, payment channels, dispute or complaint procedures and restrictions on solicitations. Where a rule is unclear, do not turn a guess into a definitive ‘legal’ badge. Our country pages separate verified official sources from unresolved editorial research.
Common beginner question
A trading website works in my country. Does that mean I can legally trade there?
No. Accessibility is not a legal authorisation test. Rules and investor protections require independent local checks.
