Pocket Option advertises deposits starting from US$5, but the actual minimum depends on the payment method and location. That starting figure is not a universal card minimum, a withdrawal threshold or a suitable trading budget. Check the complete payment preview before relying on an amount in a public article.

What is the Pocket Option minimum deposit?
The provider’s minimum-deposit article gives a US$5 starting figure while distinguishing methods and country availability. Its table lists these examples:
| Method category | Published example minimum | Evidence limit |
|---|---|---|
| E-wallets | US$5 | Not a live quote for every wallet. |
| Cryptocurrencies | US$5 | Check the particular asset/network. |
| Bank transfers | US$10 | Check country and receiving instructions. |
| Bank cards | US$20 | Not a promise for every card gateway. |
These are examples published on the page checked, not amounts independently confirmed in an authenticated account. If the actual gateway displays another amount, preserve both sources and ask which condition applies. Do not use an old comparison site’s headline as the final payment instruction.
Why do some pages show US$5 while others show US$50?
A starting account minimum, a method-specific requirement and a promotional eligibility threshold can refer to different actions. For example, Pocket Option’s promo-code article describes a particular welcome offer with a starting US$50 condition. That does not establish a universal deposit minimum.
When comparing two figures, first identify the product, date, method, location and whether a bonus is involved. If those fields are missing, the numbers cannot yet be compared fairly. A source can also be outdated or internally inconsistent; record the uncertainty instead of replacing it with a confident guess.
Minimum deposit vs minimum trade vs minimum withdrawal
| Limit | What it controls | Question to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit minimum | Smallest incoming funding amount accepted. | For this method and currency? |
| Trade minimum | Smallest permitted contract stake. | What percentage of the usable balance is it? |
| Withdrawal minimum | Smallest outgoing request accepted. | Can a remaining small balance be withdrawn? |
| Bonus condition | Eligibility or restrictions attached to an offer. | Does it alter access to funds? |
Do not infer one number from another. A platform accepting a small incoming payment does not establish that the same amount can be withdrawn through every route. Read our Pocket Option withdrawal guide for outgoing limits, processing-time differences and payment tracing.
What to check before a Pocket Option deposit
- Confirm the genuine platform. Use a trusted address and independently verify a payment request before following an unsolicited message.
- Check eligibility separately. Access to a funding page does not establish authorisation in your country. Read the applicable agreement and official local guidance.
- Select the actual route without paying. Record the method name, account currency and transfer currency offered to your account.
- Read the limits. Note the minimum, maximum and any relevant transaction limit rather than assuming a generic table applies.
- Inspect the cost preview. Preserve the gross debit, expected account credit, conversion rate and disclosed charges.
- Confirm ownership requirements. Compare the genuine account holder with the intended funding source. Do not use another person’s account to bypass a restriction.
- Read the exit conditions. Check withdrawal routes, thresholds, verification and any promotion before considering the payment journey complete.
- Keep dated evidence. Save the quote and policy version privately. Do not expose payment credentials or identity records in public screenshots.
This is a research checklist, not a live gateway walkthrough. No payment is necessary to ask a support question about a displayed threshold. If information is unclear, pause rather than guessing which transfer will be accepted.
Cards, bank transfers, e-wallets and crypto: compare the net outcome
The Payment Policy describes funding through available methods, personally owned payment sources and related withdrawal conditions. Its published terms also distinguish provider processing from payment-service delays. This is documentary information, not our tested performance.
For a card route, inspect currency conversion and the payment issuer’s treatment of the transaction. For an e-wallet, check which currency is being debited and which balance is being credited. For a bank transfer, verify the beneficiary and reference exactly as presented through the trusted route.
For crypto, the asset ticker alone is insufficient. Check the exact network, address, any memo/tag and the amount expected after sending costs. A US$5 headline does not mean every network can deliver a US$5 equivalent without deductions or a separate threshold.
Small deposits can still mean large percentage exposure
The relevant calculation is stake percentage = stake ÷ usable balance × 100. Use the balance actually available after any deductions. The following values are teaching examples, not verified Pocket Option minimum stakes or recommended budgets.
| Hypothetical usable balance | Hypothetical stake | One full-stake loss |
|---|---|---|
| US$5 | US$1 | 20% of the balance |
| US$10 | US$1 | 10% |
| US$20 | US$1 | 5% |
These percentages do not recommend depositing more. A larger deposit increases the amount exposed. The table shows why a low advertised entry number is not a complete risk description.
If a hypothetical US$10 payment credits US$9.50 after conversion or charges, a US$1 stake represents approximately 10.53% of that usable balance. After one loss, US$1 is about 11.76% of the remaining US$8.50. A fixed currency stake becomes a larger fraction as the balance falls.
Fees and conversion: reconcile debit with account credit
Use a simple record with four fields: source debit, debit currency, account credit and account currency. Add the conversion rate and any separately disclosed fee. A payment marked “fee-free” can still involve a different conversion rate or a receiving-side deduction.
Illustrative example: a source debits ₹850 and the account receives US$10. The effective rate is ₹85 per credited dollar before any separately charged cost. If another route debits ₹850 but credits US$9.70, the effective rate is about ₹87.63 per credited dollar. These invented values compare outcomes; they are not live rates.
Compare the full round trip too. A cheaper incoming route may have a different outgoing threshold or deduction. Do not establish a supposed saving from the advertised deposit minimum alone.
Bonus deposits are not the same as withdrawable cash
A display showing cash plus a promotional amount should not automatically be treated as entirely withdrawable. Read the particular offer’s eligibility, turnover, cancellation and withdrawal treatment before accepting it.
Ask a precise question: “If I decline or cancel this offer, what happens to my own deposit and any related result?” Keep the response and applicable conditions. Do not increase trading merely to satisfy a headline reward without understanding what is required.
Pocket Option deposit pending, failed or debited but not credited
Separate the source transaction from the trading-account entry. A bank notification confirms something about the bank side; it does not establish that the provider credited the intended account.
- Pending: record the source status and account-history status separately.
- Failed: check whether the source shows a final debit, reversal or temporary authorisation.
- Debited but missing: preserve amount, currency, time, provider reference and intended account reference.
- Different credited amount: ask for the conversion and deduction breakdown.
A useful ticket says: “Payment [reference], initiated [date/time/timezone] for [amount/currency], shows [source status] but the account shows [status]. Please confirm receipt, the intended credit and any outstanding requirement.” Do not pay again solely to refresh a missing-credit request.
Pocket Option minimum-deposit FAQs
Can I deposit US$5 with a bank card?
The published method table distinguishes cards from the lowest starting figure. Check the actual card preview rather than applying the wallet/crypto headline to every card.
What is the minimum deposit in Indian rupees?
No fixed rupee amount is established here. It depends on the actual route, currency quote and charges. We did not inspect an India-funded gateway. See the India research guide for the separate legal-permission question.
Does a low deposit prove Pocket Option is safe?
No. Entry funding is not evidence of solvency, regulatory permission, payment reliability or suitability. Read the Pocket Option review.
Do I need a deposit to learn the controls?
Virtual practice can illustrate controls without an incoming payment. It does not test real-money execution, KYC or withdrawals.
Can I bypass the minimum through an agent?
Do not assume an unofficial workaround is authorised. Independently verify any payment route and recipient through the genuine account; never disclose login codes to someone offering a shortcut.

Risk: Fixed-outcome trading can lose the whole stake. A low minimum is not a reason to deposit, trade or increase exposure.
